On Receiving
Last July, I virtually joined a three day retreat about relationships and reigniting passion in our lives. It was incredible. Transformative. I am still growing and having major perspective shifts and changes of behavior that have been snowballing since that retreat. I have met incredible people, acquired amazing mentors, and live an inspired life. One of the many topics we discussed over the three day retreat is the different forms of love. The goal is to live one’s lif

On Time
Time. Why is it that is seems so elusive all the time? Why does it seem, to most of us, that there is more to do in a day than the hours allow? Over the years, some interesting information and ideas vis-a-vis time have come across my notice and grabbed my attention, and I’d like to talk about them here. “Time and space are modes by which we think and not conditions in which we live.” --Albert Einstein Time, then, is an awareness of our consciousness. Some of you get excited at the thought of decluttering, cleaning out the closets, polishing the kitchen cabinet doors, and washing windows. Being able to open the windows and doors to let the clean crisp Spring air in…ahhhh. Othe

On Being Happy
So we find ourselves in the middle of the Purim celebrations – high spirits, costumes, festive meals, the neighborhood abuzz with adults and children alike, dressed up and walking to each others’ houses to shower each other with food and treats. In years past, I have had discussion with people about the idea of “needing” to be happy. The idea of almost being forced into happy cheer, for the sake of the holiday, or in some circumstances, an actual commandment for a certain pe

On Craziness
In the Jewish calendar, we stand at the beginning of five weeks of craziness. It starts this week with preparation for Purim – a festival of costumes, a festive meal, and gift baskets for neighbors and friends. We lay out costumes for the children (and some of the adults :), we bake and cook and prepare special cookies, and we use our creativity and ingenuity to make themed gift baskets for everyone to enjoy. And then, on the day of, we get all dressed up, go to synagogue,
